The hotel is in a great location but the main reason I gave this review is that Marcus was so helpful. He was great as he arranged many things for my son and me. He found us great food options, organized awesome excursions to tourist destinations and arranged cars to the airport.

This is a comfortable hotel in a great location on a relatively quiet street 2 minutes walk to the lake. The staff are friendly, attentive and professional. The city view rooms have a nice balcony to sit out. The hotel is good value.

I had stayed at this hotel many times over the years and was a little worried that under new ownership it would not be as good , but , it was great . My room 201 had a balcony and even though the staff explained it would be a little noisy , I loved listening to life as I fell asleep . My bed was comfortable, I had a fridge , kettle , tea / coffee , a safe , hairdryer and a really good shower .Water was supplied everyday . Son and Thu are invaluable staff to this hotel . They are both friendly , helpful and would go out of their way to help customers . Which they did for both myself and my friend . I highly recommend this hotel - it is value for money and that is where I will stay next visit. The only complaint was my room didn’t have a phone so I couldn’t ring my friend in another room but this is only a small thing .

I really liked this place in a shabby-chic type of way, very centrally located, the service was very friendly and helpful, and the bed was so very comfortable. I think they might need to sack the room cleaner though as there were layers of dust throughout the room and that really did not give a good impression. I stayed alone this time and just needed a bed but would probably find staying here with my family challenging due to cleaning issues. No breakfast is currently available, but food is not difficult to find close to the hotel.

Spent 3 weeks in Vietnam and Thailand in February 2020, at which time there was significant concern in the region about novel coronavirus. When we checked in to our room at Artisan Lakeview Hotel there was mucus (a booger, to be precise) on the desk, along with some dust. I'm not especially high maintenance so even though it was gross I picked it up in a tissue and proceeded to settle in. When I noticed a second specimen on table encasing the mini-fridge I decided the hotel's cleaning was substandard. I also found a few hairs in the bed under the comforter, glued together by a dark gummy substance. Within 10 minutes of checking in I returned to the desk and asked to check out without being charged. They acted confused, fiddled with the computer for five minutes, and offered me a different room. I refused a replacement room because I was turned off from their hotel. They wanted me to pay in full for the room. I had made the reservation on agoda.com less than 2 hours prior to checking in. Based on the cleanliness and the poor service from the staff I would recommend travelers to avoid this property. TL;DR - boogers in the room in two clearly visible spots
